Schools can participate with or without formal district authorization. If your district chooses to support the initiative, that support can take many forms—administrative endorsement, professional development time, or coordination across multiple schools. But individual schools are welcome to participate independently.

No. Schools can participate independently. District support is welcomed and can be helpful, but it is not required. The partnership is designed to be manageable at the school level.
Partnerships last as long as they remain meaningful to both school communities. There's no required timeline or prescribed activities. Some schools exchange a few greetings and photos; others develop deeper ongoing connections. Schools figure out together what feels right and sustainable.
Both support specific schools in Jamaica. Adopt-A-School includes partnership connection between students and teachers. Support a Named School is contribution only—no partnership or student connection required. Both pathways require you to choose a specific school from the Priority Schools list, so you'll know exactly which school you're supporting.
Adopt-A-School: Teachers facilitate the connection with minimal administrative burden. The time commitment is entirely flexible and determined by each school. Some schools integrate partnership activities into existing units, while others keep exchanges simple and occasional. Support a Named School: Zero teacher time beyond fundraising coordination—no partnership activities.
Yes, you choose. You'll review the Priority Schools list showing schools identified by Jamaica's Ministry of Education. Each listing includes the school's name, location, restoration needs, estimated costs, and student population. You select the specific school you want to support, then decide whether to Adopt-A-School (with partnership) or Support a Named School (contribution only).
